It's just the actual "swing animation" feel like they're playing at half speed instead of swinging like normal and having a longer recovery time/animation to keep the pace the same. It's a thinking game of sorts where you are supposed to use your spells to break line of sight or interrupt a channel, dodge the bad circles, etc, so it's supposed to be "a bit slow", I get it. Apparently playing it on harder difficulties speeds it up (maybe?), but I just picked normal.

My only issue so far is the combat feels slow because the animations are slow.
DARK ENVOY FREE
A continuation of Event Horizon’s attempt, which began with the studio’s debut title Tower of Time, to shatter long-standing RPG tropes and to create something unique in the process. Dark Envoy is a non-linear RPG inspired by the likes of the Divinity series, XCOM and Dragon Age to offer free world exploration with an emphasis on tactical combat layered with lore and strategy. More that you might not find it as intense an experience as other CRPGs, though apparently it's still 35h to finish it (according to 2 people on how long to beat). Dark Envoy is a non-linear RPG which offers free world exploration with an emphasis on tactical combat layered with lore and strategy. I don't mean any of this as a slight against the game. Feels a lot more focused.įeels more like an actual directed DND campaign really, than an RPG game that leverages the computer. There are optional bosses, exploration down different corridors, etc but it's not as "here's the world, go work it out". Seems quite straight forward and linear in terms of story and direction. A continuation of Event Horizon’s attempt, which began with the studio’s debut title Tower of Time, to shatter long-standing RPG tropes and to create something unique in the process. I'm only a bit of the way in to ToT but I don't think it's a CRPG in the sense of BG or DOS2, NWN, etc. Dark Envoy is a non-linear RPG to offer exploration of a vast world with an emphasis on tactical combat layered with lore and strategy.
