Most items and spells have requierements you need to meet, if you want to use them. To know, how much points you need in every attribute or skill, you need too check what kind of equipment you want to wield in the endgame.

The only time I ran into money-shortage with a char and had to give it up was a “Golden-boy” who was a Rigger/Decker-Hybrid with lots of Cyberware… combining the three most cost-intensive aspects of the game was just too much.Īpart from that: As a Decker you should only buy programms you want to use, dont always buy the newest available Drone/Weapon/program/Spell etc but try to save a bit for the lategame and only install Cyberware you wanna keep – then you should be fine. Money is another restriction, but tbh I dont know the limitations here. Think twice before you give your Spellthrower those shiny cyber-eyes. And remember: Once lost Essence can NEVER be gained back. You can only ever have Cyberware worth of 5 points Essence, so choose your build beforehand. You can still dump extra-points, but 190 should be the amount of Karma that covers all your important skill-levels.Īnother important thing is Essence. It is possible to get more before the last mission, but if you know your way around the basics of the game, 190 should be fairly easy to get, so lets stay with this number. When I build a Runner I usually do the maths with around 190-195 Karma-points. I will not go into details here, there are other guides out there, that can tell you all the relevant skill-checks. To unlock some addtional Karma you will need to pass some skill-checks or think of clever solutions. The amount of Karma you will have varies, depending on the way you manage to solve different missions. The most important aspect of your character development is ofc Karma. So first of all you need to know your limitations, when creating a Runner. Ressources for optimizing your Char (Karma, Nuyen, Essence, spell-slots, etc) are limited, so its usefull to plan beforehand, otherwise you might just miss those few Karma-points needed to meet the requirements for your planned main Weapon/spell/whatever. This guide is NOT supposed to tell you, how you should exactly build your Char, and its not about what playstyle is the most effective or lore-accurat.
Since I like building different Chars for Dragonfall (and realized that some Infos and thoughts on the matter are not easily found) I decided to make a short guide with a few hints that might help others out and spare you some testing and searching. Just a few Tipps and usefull information you might wann use when planning your runner for SR:Dragonfall.
